Wine and drinks

Our wine list won a Notable award for 2011 - 2012, signifying that it reached the final round of the AA Wine Awards, and received a bunch of grapes from the Michelin 2011 guide, signifying a 'particularly interesting wine list.'

We offer about 20 wines by the glass, including Perrier-Jouet champagne, prosecco and four dessert wines. We have a good list of sherries (and fabulous tapas - warm anchovy twists, great olives, habas fritas, chorizo, sweet chillies) to go with it. Guests are welcome to drop in for just a glass of wine and tapas.

Wines by the bottle are carefully and individually chosen by the partners, i.e. general manager, Tim Sunderland, and Ruth and David Watson. They are all listed by grape variety, with helpful notes attached to many of them: Italy is particularly well-represented.

Should guests wish to bring their own wine to consume in the restaurant, it must be by prior consultation with Tim Sunderland and a corkage charge will be made. Guests are welcome to bring their own wine or champagne to consume in their rooms but if ice buckets, glasses, etc., are requested then a service charge of £10 will be added to the final account. (Serving wine and food is how we pay our staff!)

Please note that the wine list changes weekly. This is only an example and should not be relied on for exact descriptions and prices. We are happy to send you an up-to-date copy by email or post, on request.
